I have talked about this in another post but I was wondering if anyone could tell me some anti anxiety medications that would help with constant repetitive thoughts? Something that could numb my mind?

Repetitive thoughts. You mean OCD?
Paxil numbs my mind, its really good. But mostly you have to try different ones and find the one that works for you.
Thanks for this!

I do not have repetitive thoughts but I have frequent intrusive thoughts. Respirdal has helped. It will probably be trial & error for you to find something that helps. Good luck

Intrusive thoughts, repeating past events in my head over and over again and I cannot stop it. Hundreds and hundreds of times. It is driving me crazy.

Do you think you might have PTSD?
I have had thoughts like that in the past, events that just go on and on repeating themselves in a relentless loop.
Now I realize it was PTSD. Have you ever had therapy for this?
Thanks for this!

I am in therapy and I have been put on several different anti depressants and few anti anxiety medications (not very strong) and nothing seems to help. I don't know if it is ptsd, I mean sometimes the things I repeat in my head never happened to me, they happened to other people. I really just want a strong anti anxiety to calm my mind or honestly just numb it. I cannot stand to have so many thoughts like this, bad thoughts, running through my head constantly. I do not know what is wrong with me but it makes my head hurt. I seem my doctor Friday.

I hesitate to suggest it, but if you feel real bad a anti psychotic med might work wonders.
Thanks for this!

It is normal to repeat things in your head that never happened to you? but you may have witnessed? I see my therapist tonight and will she what she suggests but so far she nor the doctor have not been very helpful. I'm scared to suggest an anti psychotic, is there anything I should know before I bring this up to my doctor?

i'm female, 67, diagnosed bp2 for 36 yrs. during the day i can manage the repetitive thoughts but at bedtime, they always interfere w/sleep and i need 9 hrs. a nite to feel good; a pharmacist told me that am-
bien will put you to sleep, but not keep you asleep and not stop the racing thoughts…best med for me is 1/2 25mg. seroquel nightly: deeeeeep sleep, vivid dreams that go on forever, and a hangover for about 30 min. when waking up. i exercise daily and have worked out for years and have not gained any weight on seroquel; in fact, just cutting down on portions but not exercising any more, have gone from 125lb. to 101lb. seroquel for me has been my miracle. klonopin doesn't knock me out nor does xanax, which i have on hand.
