I feel a little odd asking this because mostly, people say separation anxiety is only seen in children. Yet, I am 16 years old and I have a separation anxiety disorder. I've been told that I fall into social, separation and generalized anxiety disorder (so not really sure if I should just say I have generalized anxiety?). Not really the point. When I have to leave my mom for whatever reason, I completely panic and if possible, I will attempt to cancel at all costs. If I must go, I'll text her constantly. I'm just wondering if there's anyone out there who also has separation anxiety and isn't 7 years old because I feel extremely alone with this, honestly

I'm about ten years older than you and still struggle from separation anxiety sometimes. Doesn't just happen with parents but all loved ones. When I feel all alone I start to panic.

I'm 48 and I still suffer from separation anxiety. Wonder how one addresses this issue.
