I am new to this site and would like to get some opinions. I recently was diagnosed with clinical depression and anxiety. I am a professional and feel embarrassed like I a "weird one" now. Only some of my family knows that I take Zoloft to help calm me down. I feel bad because I am a single mom and my 9 year old knows mama takes something to help her feel better.
However, I notice when I am at work, there are certain triggers that annoy me or make me feel on edge to the point where I lose my temper and do weird things. Sometimes, I even ponder on my condition so much that I feel like I like it in some way.. Do you think that this is weird? Please reply. |

No, I don't think it's weird. Many, many people are very attached to their diagnosis. In fact, I think more people than not are attached to their diagnosis. I've seen people create their entire lives around their diagnosis.

Thanks so much. That is a relief to hear someone say that.
