I can't stop the cogs turning in my head and it's lead to sever anxiety and panic atacks almost daily and I used to try and stay busy but it's left me severly depressed and awake all the time. I'm a strong minded and I thought I was emotionally sturdy but I can't see into the next day and dream every night of an asteroid hit and the world ending, I stare out of the window convinced ones coming to do my dirty work for me and I feel ashamed of myself and that leads to something else and it does'nt feel like it's going away so if anyone has any advice or personal experience simillar then I'm all ears and I'm irononiclly good at helping with peoples mental confusion and give advice that I tell myself every day so please comment if you relate
Thanks for this!

Hello, Ashley_roberts93. Is professional help an option?

Anxiety, Panic and Phobia Center - Psych Central

My therapist gave me a card with these coping tips. They take some practice but have been helpful.
Coping With Anxiety and Panic

1. Remember, feelings of panic are just exaggerations of normal bodily stress reactions.
2. Sensations are neither harmful nor dangerous - just unpleasant. Nothing worse will happen.
3. Anxiety is temporary. Instead of fighting it, relax into it. Just let it be.*
4. Focus on facing the fear rather than trying to avoid it or escape from it.
5. Stop adding to the panic with frightening thoughts of where panic will lead.
6. Stay in the present. Be aware of what is happening to you rather than concern yourself with how much worse it might get.
7. Notice that when you stop adding to panic with frightening thoughts, the fear begins to fade.
8. Wait and give the fear time to pass.
9. Look around you. Plan what you will do next as the panic subsides.
10. When you are ready to go on, do so in an easy, relaxed manner. There is no hurry.
11. Think about the progress made so far despite all the difficulties.
*Breathe
I wish you well.

Yeah, I definitely relate, Ashley. I freak out about death and stuff, as well, ... currently having a really crappy night about something health anxiety thing; I'm just trying to keep my mind busy by speaking/typing my second-language, perusing these forums, and other places online. (stupidly looked on Google for something, but it was important) You're not alone.

In a sick sort of way, I'm glad I'm not the only one that's sacred of these things. Granted, my main focus isn't world-destroying asteroids. Phenomenally rare, by the way; unlikely to happen for many years - just think, we've been around for a long time and the world hasn't been hit by a planet-destroying asteroid, so that's something!
