I have schizoaffective disorder, PTSD, and OCD. I'm currently on Abilify and Geodon. My problem is that my anxiety just seems to be getting worse the older I get. My current pdoc refuses to address my anxiety issues. She said she would increase my Geodon, but that was recently tried and put me into a mixed episode.

I have an appointment with a new pdoc tomorrow night because I'm not happy with my current one. My question is, how do I request a prescription for my anxiety without sounding like I'm drug seeking? I don't even necessarily want a benzo, I just need something. I was actually put on vistiril (sp?) I believe, when I went to a partial hospitalization program this spring, and my current pdoc told me I wasn't allowed to take it when she found out. Not that it was doing anything for me anyway, but still. I just don't know what to do, but I can't keep living with this anxiety.

Perhaps you can tell the doctor that you are experiencing a lot of anxiety (explaining the symptoms), but don't try to sound like you are begging for drugs?

Hmm well first off I hope this new pdoc is better at listening to your needs! I would be straight froward with the new doctor tell him how you feel and what has and hasn't worked for you in the past. I hope the two of you can work together to manage your anxiety!
