So I have to go to a cookout at my parents house tomorrow and I'm slightly freaking out. I just hate having to make small talk for long periods of time, even if it's family. Plus it's supposed to be hot and I really don't like to be out in the heat. I'm stuck and can't think of a good excuse to get out of it.

Can you make excuses? I wouldn't go if you really don't want to. That being said it takes a lot to make me miss a BBQ. yumm

Obligations stink. If you must go, hopefully you can make the most of it.
Thanks for this!

It can be like trying out for a role-----stage play----you know all the characters, and your self....at least it is time limited. Good luck! Find the ice!

Well I did end up going and, ironically, now I really AM sick! My step-sister and her daughter had colds. They were both coughing without covering their mouths like it was an olympic sport.
