Would it help for you to write down what is happening so you can hand it to the doc? I hope you are feeling better soon and that you get through the appointment with as little stress as possible. Best of luck to you!

Hello Jacq.
I hope things go better tomorrow at the Dr appointment. Try not to get to upset if possible and I agree with Sabau try to write down things you think are important since your anxiousness may cause you to forget things tomorrow. Try to take care of yourself. Soidhonia

writing things down is a good way to remember and bring someone with you if you can, they can hold the list for you.

Doctors stink. Doctors Tomorrow ...

I hope your appointment goes well - breathe, and just tell them whats what. If they don't listen though, let me know and I'll come and kick some butt. (Sorry, I have lousy humor)

(((((((jacq))))))) I get nervous around doctors for physical problems too. My old pdoc is a rock hound -- he likes to hunt for them and then polish them up and make jewelry and stuff out of them. When I was in the hospital, extremely ill, he brought me a "worry stone" -- a beautiful gray and white polished rock with a really smooth finish. It's really soothing to rub. I keep it on my night stand and have been known to fall asleep holding it, but it also travels with me to hematologist appointments and blood draws. Just having it in my pocket and available to touch helps soothe me. Can you think of something small like that you could carry with you that might help ease your anxiety?

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Doctors Tomorrow ...

So i went this morning to talk to the doctor .. and she was actually a lot easier to talk to them my previous doctor there .. but it was still really awkward. She kept telling me that its hard for her to understand whats wrong because apparently i'm hard to "get information out of" .. oh well. And so then i had some blood tests done, and she wants to send me downtown to get an ultrasound on my stomach. yipee....

This has been like the worst day ever Doctors Tomorrow ... My roomate had people in my room until 4 last night and i have a midterm in two hours and a paper due tomorrow Doctors Tomorrow ... I dont know if i can do all this ...

I'm glad you got to the doctor, but sorry about the further testing. Small blessing that ultrasounds don't actually hurt.

Hope the midterm exam went well, and that you're able to finish the paper. Give me a holler after 9pm if you want to chat at all, to take a break.

And as for the job interview, just breathe, smile and I'm hoping they're smart enough to hire you!

That is great news that the doctor was easier to talk to than you expected and she requested further testing to help you with your hurting stomach. She wants to help you feel better. Once they find out if there is something causing your stomach to hurt they will know what to do to help you feel better.

I hope you'll let us know how you are feeling and what they find out.

((((((((((((((( hugs to everyone ))))))))))))))

Thanks so much for your support, and sorry i haven't been around much lately, things have been VERY hectic, but fortunately i should have some more time now! I'm going to book an appointment on Monday for the ultra sound and hopefully that will go well and i won't get any scary results from my blood test!
