i am actually one of those fortunate people who never get it. i chalk it up to the fact that i am agoraphobic and never go anywhere and hardly ever leave my office and dont socialize at work.

I've had the flu. I understand your concern. The flu is nothing at all like a cold. It will kick your *** seriously. I'd never been that sick and I thought the flu was like a really bad cold... until I got the flu. Do you think you could manage a quick trip to the drug store for a flu shot? If not, don't worry too much. If you really never go anywhere then the chances of being infected seem very slim. You can't take antibiotics for flu so you treat the symptoms. Your DH could pick up OTC meds for that. Honestly tho I think you'll be okay. In all my years of interacting with many many people I only got the flu twice and that was just in the last 6 years. I had many flu free years prior to that. Try to keep your immune system in shape. That's a good general rule of health anyway.

I worry about the flu too. It makes me anxious. Two of my kids have a tummy bug right now and I am working at calming myself.

Just stock up on flu medications like nyquil beforehand so that if you ever do get a cold or the flu, you already have everything you need at home. Maybe ask your husband to pick up some flu medicine next time at the grocery store. You can also stock up on things like ginger ale, etc.
