Hello,

I was involved in an accident a few hours ago and I'm still very shaken up by it. My anxiety levels are extremely high and I've been fighting panic attacks and tears since leaving the hospital.

I rear ended a car and ended up damaging my and their property and was cited for "following too closely." I have to appear in court. I don't know what to do. I've never been in this kind of situation. I was unable to collect the other person's information before being taken away by ambulance and I am unsure of how to go about having their car repaired and obtaining proof. I'm also anxious about what this may do to my record. It is otherwise very clean--no speeding or any other violations of any kind.

I'm a paranoid mess and I sadly have no one/where else to turn to for support.

Thanks in advance for whatever response you choose to leave.
Hugs from:

I'm sorry to hear about your dilemma. Your Insurance Company, and theirs, are probably in contact with each other by this time. I'm surprised they haven't got in touch with you yet.
Contact your Insurance Company and ask them what steps you need yo take next.
I'm sorry you had to go to the hospital but I'm glad you're okay.

As far as Court is concerned just make sure you go to your hearing. Most likely you will receive a small fine, and they will take a few points off your drivers license. Also your Ins Co will raise your premium.
Thanks for this!
