I always have anxiety but yesterday was bad. I was close to panic.

I did my deep breathing exercises which did help. I tried to accept the feelings and let them go. That is so hard to do but I did try. I made it through. I felt like I had defeated a giant when it had passed.

I preceded to wish my Facebook a Happy Valentine's Day and tell them all that I love them very much. I wish you all the same!!!

What do you all do when you have a bad bad day????

Merrida, Hello and welcome back. It's been a little while since you joined and introduced yourself. I am sorry about your anxiety and that you were close to panic. It sounds like you know some great coping skills. I am glad that you were able to get through that ok.

Thanks for the warm wishes as well. I have generalized anxiety disorder so I do know about anxiety. I have had panic anxiety in the past but medications have helped with that.

When I have a bad day, I usually find my rocking chair and nestle in it. I read meditation books. I like to drink hot calming tea. I think reading helps me to take the stress away. Sometimes I just like the quiet and when it is not winter I like to walk.

Welcome Merrida. I had a bad day today with my anxiety. I tried doing deep breathing but couldn't focus, too nervous. Recently, I read a quote that made a lot of sense and I imagine it comes under the heading of mindfulness..."The true secret to happiness lies in taking a genuine interest in all the details of daily life.".....William Morris.

Focusing on the present shifts the mind away from what is troubling you.

Hi Merrida, that's awesome you were able to overcome the storm. On bad days, nothing soothes the soul like music. Shopping and watching a movie I've wanted to see for awhile distract me also. But music is portable and socially acceptable in most places. It makes people laugh when I "bust a move" but who cares? Hope you overcome many more clouds on sunny days.
