So I haven’t posted in a couple of months. Been lurking all this time. Every time I would decide I want to post something, I would get anxious and get worked up for what i want to write. And when I sit and turn on the computer, my mind goes blank. I’ve thought about the possibility, that it’s because English isn’t my first language. But I’ve been on forums with my native language and I still had that problem. So I think I think it’s because of my social anxiety. The pressure I put on myself in real life about what I should say, I would say is even bigger online. I don’t know why. Can anyone relate?

shygirl2101, welcome back to PC. I think your English is great. Having to write in another language is not easy. That may be why writing online is so much more difficult for you. I know you say that it is hard even in your native language but anxiety is that way. When I get anxious or anxiety ridden I lose my thought process and it is hard to find the words to say. So I can relate. You did a great job writing out your thoughts. Keep posting and it will get easier.
Thanks for this!

Hello shygirl. Perhaps writing what you want to post on paper first will help. Jot down thoughts throughout the day and later compose them into statements or questions you may want to post. Your English is excellent by the way!!! You did a good job with this post. You are very articulate and well spoken. Being shy just means you have to work a little harder at it, but you can do it. You just did!!!
Thanks for this!

sideblinded, Ruftin, thank you both for your kind words. I have to confess that I didn't think my English was good enough. That's why I gave up on my dream to be English teacher. Well that, and also public speaking is my biggest weakness. But anyways, at least now I know that people can understand what I write in posts. I'll try the suggestion from Ruftin. And I'll try to make a post once a day. That's all I can promise. The average time it takes me write a post, depending on the length is between 15-60 minutes. Although I hope that will change, if I'm persistent enough.
