SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP, i HAVE BEEN DX A MYSTERY!

Ok I will try to make this short but I really need some answeres. Basically I have GAD, some depression, Used to have Panic Attacks, POTS, Fibro, cfs, arthritis. I take up to 4 mg of xanax a day, 2 mg of clonopin at bed, and 2,5 beta blocker with 1 mg xanax and now.5 add on klonopin add on at 6 am. I wake up then with real bad shakes and tremors, feels like heart pounding but not tachy like before the Beta blocker. I have been to 4 neuros, 4 psyc docs, primarys done all kinds of blood work. This has bee going on real bad everyday for at least 3 years. I used to feel shaky and weak and tacky but I could get up. NOw I can't even get out of bed for 45 min. till it stops. I was sent to JOHNS HOPKINNS neuro clinic by my compassionate pcp and he does not know what is is not even a clue! Said I was a MYSTERY in the medical world. Did not even suggest that maybe it had to do with any other part of my body than neuro, like maybe adrenal or whatever. I HAD MORE IDEAS than he did about what it MAY be. Like Exxagerated Anxiety Syndrome , anything for Gods sake! So he referred me back to may psych doc.
She seems not to have a clue except that if it is anxiety I need an antidepressant and I can not for the life of me find one I can take. SSRI make me anxious. I am on to Seroquel recenctly, nerontin, topomax, nada nada, They all make me crazy. So now she gives me Trazadone, and I find out it is more for sleep though, I could use that , but she even said maybe I should get checked for adrenal problems or a better thyroid test. HOW do I get anyone to listen. I had my hub drive me to Baltimore and cried all the way home. WHat is wrong with me? This only happens when I wake up, or of course there is some horrible horrible stressor, which is rare now. Someone please help I am lost in the world with NO LABEL!

I have heard that most gp's miss the adrenal problems despite their best effors. The tests they run are designed to sniff out adrenals problems in their final stages, same with thyroid, gluten allergies, and a host of other problems.
My suggestion to you is find a naturopath or an expert endocronologist who can run the necessary tests.
I have also been to the rheumy, neuro, pain clinic, stuffed with pills, dx'd with fibro...yadayadayada.....
I finally called my naturopath and asked her for the adrenal test. She mailed it to me and I mailed it back to the lab and within days the results were in: adrenal fatigue. Sadly, all my conventional-practice doctors are clueless....

Thanks for that advice, I have seen that test mentioned on my fibro site. Sorry about all those typos they make me really look nuts. I will try for the endrocrinologist....or the saliva test....I just know something is going crazy inside me like a physical anxiety attack so so awful. Thanks again.

oh and Withit, is there anything natural you can take or do you need an rx. I am so tired now...but thanks for the advice. good nite!

Before anyone advises you, if you're going to take anything for adrenal function you must first confirm your suspiciouns via testing. If you google adrenal fatigue or adrenal exhaustion or adrenal failure you might find yourself there.
Can you get an appt. at an endocronologist or naturopath?

I will, I promise, I am going to make an appt. to get referrals. Today I have to deal with a migraine. It never stops!

Get into an endocrinologist ASAP.

ok I found an Endo group in Annapolis all women, but can't get an appt. till June! And left a message with my doc who has to give me a referrall, I hope she does.....I never really understand how that works,,,,,does the primary doc in an hmo have to give the ok or do you have the right to go to a doc if you feel the need? I always thought they had to "approve" it somehow. Mine is usually good, but I feel like I am overwhelming her with complaints. but hey I'm not making this up for fun! Now I have a killer migraine and have to be at the docs at 8:45 Thurs. am. That will not be fun I cant do mornings! I can't go tomorrow cause I have to go babysit cause a family member has to go to court for being stupid. So another day of driving , babysitting and migraine/! I have a pain killer but it makes me sleep. Oh the migraines were called sinus infections till they became migraines cause of clear CT scans. Funny the antibiotic would have wiped it out. I am just working the medical field to the ground.

Can you ask to be called in case of cancellation? Or ask if you can check in with them (on office days) to see if there are any cancellations that day. Also, I hope you told them this is urgent.
About hmo's and referrals. Ask the endo office if they need a referral.

That is a good idea withit, I do need a referral but have not heard back from doc so they must be doing it. She will call back till 9:00 at night! She must never leave the office. I am begining to wonder if i have PTSD I even mentioned that to pysch doc she said could be...from all the stress my 2 older kids have put me thru, maybe my body goes into overdrive automatically the second I wake up and I do not want to get up ......then I have to start forcing myself to think of all the things I want to do and I sit up and start the process. I really seem like another person during day. I have lots of things I want to do, just not enough time or energy, This doc is a little flaky, but she is sooooo nice and at least most of my anxiety under control now....she personally answers the phone no matter what time you call though you are supposed to call between 9-10 am for problems, med refills, etc......and she will tell you that, but she does answer every call.
