well that is kind of difficult to answer not knowing what kind of anxiety you suffer from. i have anxiety really bad, social and performance but i do really well at my job because i do something i love and i am very happy there. i am terrified of people but i deal with them all day long. the difference is, they are coming to my turf and needing something from me and i have the resources for them so i can deal with it. i know i am good at what i do so that manages the performance angle. the little things that cause issue i have talked to my boss about and we have dealt with them for the most part. the main issue of having to talk on the phone i just have to get over and do. there are mornings i am petrified and feel too anxious to get out of bed thinking i am such a fraud and there is no way i can go do what i do cause everybody will know what a fake i am, but i get out of bed anyway knowing it is only my MI thoughts, that i know my job like the back of my hand and can do it with my eyes closed and i am good at what i do.

so i was going to say, if people make you anxious, get a job that doesnt involve people like stocking or line work, but that involves performance anxiety and "what if i am not good enough?" questions. what it comes down to is getting a job that makes you feel good about what you do, that makes you feel happy and competent so that when you wake up feeling anxious telling yourself you cant do it, you can over ride those thoughts knowing you can.

Something low key, probably in an office environment doing data entry etc. Stay away from jobs such as cashiering! me and my sister(who have anxiety) cant handle those jobs..and when we did cashier we often left work crying because of the stress..

I had a great job a few years ago before I went on disability. I worked in Sams Club in the clothing department folding all the clothes on the tables. It was great..no anxiety and stress free..but my bipolar got in the way of that so...

I work in a factory like setting but it's nothing like line work at all... I work by myself with occasional work with a very small group of people... It's about the most perfect set up I could hope for.. It's also very laid back as long as you get your work done.. The two people I have conversations with the most are also very quiet.. So it all helps... I truly believe the people you work with/for.. Can make or break your job.. You won't know that without trial and error.. Good luck..

i used to work as a secretary. i did very well with it. the only times i got super anxious were when they made me handle the calendar calls when the person who normally did it took the day off (which was often). if it weren't for having to do that part of it (scheduling depositions etc. as it was a law firm) it would have been perfect for me.
