I haven't really thought about what I'm going to say in this post,
I just figured I needed to post something because it's been so long. I have a job interview on Saturday. The first job interview I've ever gone to. Part of me wants to forget about it, and just stay home forever and not get a job. The other half of me wants to get a job so I can finally buy the camera I want, and so I can save up money for a car and so I can move out when I'm 18. Luckily there won't be any one on one stuff at the interview, and it's really laid back and casual. Geez, people make me nervous. I didn't used to be so afraid of everything. My mom must think I'm a nut job, ha ha. I don't know if it was my medication or my anxiety, but I started having panic attacks (2 in the course of 2-3 weeks), so I stopped taking my Celexa. My mom hasn't called my Psychiatrist about it yet so he has no idea, and I don't see him again till the 13th. I haven't gotten a new counselor yet, my mom's fault not mine. I don't really know what to say. Maybe I should plan out my next post better. Oh, the reason my post is like a column is because I have to have things symmetrical and I don't like how like... wide the post is when you don't hit enter after each line..if that makes sense.. haha

hi itspeaks,
it's really good you have an idea why you want to be working, money for camera and such, I'm not sure what kind of interview it will be 'no one on one', is it a group thing or something? don't worry, your post looks fine to me. I know what you mean, I like things to look just so also, and I edit my stuff to death. LOL |

There are some really good ways to prepare for an interview - check out the web...
Most importantly be true to yourself - Some advice can lead you to "canned" answers...We hire on attitude, overall character, skill set, experience, and education - generally in that order.

How did your interview go? I like how you are nervous, but you are seeing the positive things that can come from going through with the interveiw, getting the job, and all the things you want to do. The job will be a 'vehicle' toward getting those things. You're very smart!
It would be a good idea for you to call your psychiatrist and tell him what you experienced and that you've stopped the Celexa; he wants to and needs to hear how it went for you and waiting until the 13ths is too long. It will be good practice in independence for you to make the call to him rather than having your mom relay it second-hand. This is about you and your voice is needed. He will be very glad you called! So, how did it go? Did you get the job? A new camera sounds fun! |

I don't know his number, and I don't know if I'm even allowed to call him. I never even see him by myself, my mom is always in the room.

Hi Itspeaks,
I think you should go for it. Whether or not you get it, you'll at least have gotten your first interview out of the way. It's going to be a lot more anxiety provoking when you actually need the job. You don't seem to really need this job so it will be relaxed. You'll be fine. Good luck! ![]() By the way-I've always wanted to ask you this- with your screen name, What speaks? Ever since I first saw your name-it's been messing with my mind. Please let me know if it's not too personal. Thank you! ![]() |
