Hello All,
I have been going through a 'breakdown' and not been at work for a couple months. Largely the problem has been anxiety. I took Abilify, and that sent me over the top - trouble with sleep, eating, and increased anxiety. Now I have been given Zoloft. Anyone with negative experiences on Zoloft for anxiety. Thank you so much for input!
Sunny

Hi Sunny,

I am currently on Zoloft and Abilify for depression and anxiety. I find the combination works well for depression, but for me it didn't really help my generalized anxiety disorder, so my pdoc just added Buspar to the mix... Started taking it on Thursday, so we will see if this does the trick.

Good luck! Abilify/Zoloft for anxiety

Hello. I have only ever tired 2 different medications for anxiety: Zoloft and Lexapro. I am on Lexapro.

Anyways, what happened with me and Zoloft is I started to lose some cognitive thought processing thing like I knew the definition for a word, but not the word itself. It was very severe some days.

Next, I felt tired even worse than I am now (which is not a good sign). When I had 6 hours of sleep (which is common for me), it felt like I was having 3 hours of sleep. It was hard to concentrate on anything because I was so tired all the time. Even standing up for a minute made me want to pass out and sleep. On the weekends when I was able to sleep, I slept for at least 11 hours. Averagely was 12.

Also, we never got far enough to see if it helped my anxiety.

Anyways, I hope it helps you Abilify/Zoloft for anxiety . I don't remember anything else that bad other than basic symptoms that the pdoc mentioned. Oh ya, I occasionally felt dizzy. If you have questions, PM me Abilify/Zoloft for anxiety .

hi sunny,
I had a negative experience with Zoloft . it made me more anxious than hell . my old psychiatrist jacked up my Zoloft all the way up to 275 mgs a day. and top of that she put me on trazodone . it didn't do anything for my anxiety level cuz it was so high up there like a kite .I even gain weight w the Zoloft too . im now on Cymbalta and Vistaril for my anxiety and depression sunny . I would never go back on Zoloft even if my psychiatrist ask me to try it Ill just tell her no I will not go back to Zoloft cuz of the negative effects on me.

Diagnosis: Anxiety and depression
meds : Cymbalta 90 mgs at night
Vistaril 2 25 mgs daily for anxiety prn
50 mgs at night for insomnia
