What symptoms do you get with your anxiety (attacks). I literally wake up anxious and theres hardly any time throughout my day that I'm not. I've tried a few different meds and they may work for a while but then they stop. What do you all take?

Symptoms I experience:
Feeling in my chest/stomach like I'm on a rollarcoaster or like the Tower of Terror ride - I can't really explain it..

Irritability, restlessness, impending doom feeling, headaches, lightheadness, heavy chest, stomachache to the point of making myself sick, racing negative thoughts, sensitivity to sound - also I'll realize that I've been holding my breath. It's wierd.

I hate it and wish I could make it stop.

What really helps with my anxiety is my anti-psychotic (Seroquel). I do take Xanax (3 mgs per day), but divided doses of Seroquel really help.

Of course diet, exercise, and socialization also help.
Thanks for this!

Just my normal anxiety not in an attack state is with headaches, bad concentration, anxiety, and back and neck pains.

I actually have three different panic attacks, or anxiety attacks.

1. Social anxiety. This includes trembling, heat sensations, heart racing, sweating, and sometimes shortness in breathe. I also stammer during these times if I have to talk.

2. Generalized. This includes heart racing, dizziness, heat sensation, some shaking, and a headache.

3. Unexpected/unknown. This includes basically anything like shaking, headache, heart racing, dizziness, light-headedness, not feeling like I'm there, heat sensations, sweating.

Yep. All fun.

Nothing helps. Not meds not the billion strategies I have tried. Meditation can calm me but I'm right back to anxiety when it stops.

This isn't everyday for the last decade, it's more in waves, months at a time. This time I have been this anxious and vomiting constantly since the start of the month.

Nothing anyone can do for me now

Do you have any meds for the anxiety? I take hydroxyzine. It's not as good as a benzo but it helps a bit. Good luck.

I have taken everything offered to me. The current meds are 10mg Ativan and 6mg clonazepam. They do not work unless I take enough to knock me out, then I wake up just as bad anyway. I also have 10mg Zyprexa to take but it makes me depressed.

I've practiced CBT everyday for years but today I can't identify thoughts. Just shakibg vomiting and crying/screaming for hours on end

Also practice mindfulness dbt and animal therapy. And those little tapping and positive affirmation tricks. I try these things long term and it has little impact overall.

I know it doesn't help to hear this, but it will pass eventually. I went through a period in the spring and summer of 91 when I was in the most horrible extreme anxiety. I would wake up terrified, and then walk the city for hours, crying. I just didn't know what to do for myself. It wasn't good to stay in and it wasn't good to go out. But eventually it passed. I'm in another phase of terrible anxiety but not like it was then, this is sort of different now, but I just stay frightened all the time. But it's the result of benzodiazepene withdrawal syndrome. If only I could have stayed on them the rest of my life, that's what I would have done. But that doesn't have any bearing on your situation, sorry . my main point is that what you're going through will run its course and pass, like the horrible period I went through in 91. Good luck. Just hang on. It will eventually be OK again.

I've had months at a time of this for 18 years. Yep it'll pass but I do a heck of a lot of damage to myself before it does. I don't cope and always get threatened with inpatient. Sometimes I go but it doesn't help. Id rather be home and isolated.

I've tried so many meds and nothing helps my anxiety long term. Some of them helped a little and some for a short while but the anxiety always comes back. Does anyone else get so anxious that they get diarrhea? I know, TMI.
