I deal with high anxiety and panic attacks. I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas of what might help me. I'm on meds, but they don't always help...

Unfortunately, there isn't a single thing that helps every person. Everyone is different. In the end, it's a combination of of meds, physical exercises (such as breathing), therapy and very importantly self-dialog used to challenge the state of panic, such as the question "What's upsetting me right now?" "Why?" "Does this make sense?" If not, I'm going to let it go...
One thing that I've learned dealing with my condition is that it does take a lot of mental effort to do this kind of reframing. A mistake that a lot of people make is that they assume that their thought process will automatically change because they start taking meds or start therapy. You really have to work with yourself if and when you can. |

What meds are you on? I take buspar twice a day for my anxiety and it's helped tremendously. I also take Ativan PRN. If your meds aren't always helping then talk to your pdoc

I take generic visarel, sorry my spelling is off today. I take it as needed. It was 2 times a day. Now it is 3 times a day. Buspar never worked for me. It takes away the anxiety, but now once it wears off, the anxiety comes back...That is why I was asking...
