Hi,

I've been suffering from really bad chronic blushing for 20 years. Lately, it has made my anxiety go through the roof. I've been asking myself what I need to feel better, and keep hearing, 'Someone to tell me everything will be OK!' I don't know where this is coming from, but could someone here just tell me this? I feel I need to hear it from someone other than myself..

Also, I'd be interested to hear if people actually believe this - that no matter how bad a situation you find yourself in, things will probably be OK..?

Hi there,

Your blushing is quite common and might be due to social anxiety, Google "erythrophobia" to know more.

I also suffered from a form of blushing in my early teens, except that it was my ears that would go red as a STOP sign, and I'd also feel them burning. To go with that, I also had my face covered in acne. So I was a pimple-faced, red-eared teenager who suffered from terrible social anxiety as a result of those facial "mishaps" (among other things), and some days I'd just skip school just to spare myself all the teasing and humiliation.

But things eventually got better. By the time I was 16 the acne had nearly disappeared completely, and I had been through so much worse that the red burning ears weren't much of an issue anymore.

I know this is not quite related to your issue, but I just wanted to tell you that story anyway, that's my way to relate and empathize.

Things will be OK for you too. Have patience, everything will be fine!

Take care.

In my mid to late twenties I apparently had a blushing thing going on and people would point it out all the time. It annoyed the hell out of me because I didn't know what it looked like, didn't feel it, and worst of all didn't care! But dammit if the conversation wouldn't just become oh look at Blues he's blushing. And I'd have to sit there while everyone had a good chuckle over it.

I don't know if I still blush but nobody's said anything in years so yeah it's something that could blow over.
