I'm just curious if anyone has noticed any correlation between their anxiety and heart rate? I recently upgraded my FitBit exercise band to the Blaze, which records heart rate, and I was astonished to find my heart rate is incredibly low. It is in the 'athlete' range both at rest and during exercise. And lemme tell ya, I am NOT an athlete.

However, in addition to this interesting find, I also noticed my heart rate fluctuations during times of stress or anxiety. Driving, for example, really raises my heart rate. I am really bad about getting emotional with aggressive drivers. Also, when I am having a heated discussion or feeling overwhelmed, I'll look down and my heart rate is highly elevated like I'm sprinting a mile.

What it has done is make me more aware of the physical impact of my anxiety and work on calming myself down. It also seems to validate my anxiety. My doctors are very skeptical about my symptoms.

Hello ruesia: Oh yes, the Skeezyks has struggled with high levels of anxiety for many years. I never had the benefit of the technology you have at your disposal. But, when I would be in particularly stressful situations, my heart would sometimes feel as though it would burst forth from my chest! It still does at times...
