I've been taking sertraline (Zoloft) for almost 2 weeks now and today I finally noticed a difference. I'm learning to drive and driving/being in motor vehicles is a source of anxiety for me, to the point that I avoided learning to drive for 18 years! I'm 34 now, living in the suburbs with 2 kids so without my license I am totally isolated. So I am facing my fears.
Usually during my driving lesson I have periods of extreme stress and feeling anxious. There are some place in the routes we take that trigger me, more difficult areas and such. But today I would be driving trough the areas before realising I wasn't freaking out inside. It was such a good lesson because I wasn't feeling so scared and I felt more confident in my abilities. I wasn't expecting much of a change very quickly and I still have a lot of anxiety but it's nice to know that the meds are starting to do some good. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It's a great thing when you feel your medication working. Good news! And congrats on the driving.

I vaguely recall reading that Zoloft is unique in that it also hits the dopamine receptors, and it's this mechanism that can make you feel better soon after starting it. I remember feeling better within a few days and being surprised by it.

Thankyou, I'm really proud of myself for getting behind the wheel. And I'm kicking myself that I didn't consider meds sooner. |

Awesome news!
I just started Zoloft as well. I know it's highly individual, but do you mind me asking what dosage you're currently on? |

I'm on 50mg a day, it's only been 2 weeks so I will have to see my doc in the next week to assess. I don't expect that she will change my dosage though as it seems to be working well for me. |

Good to know... I'm currently taking 100mg, but am not feeling anything from it yet. Thankfully no terrible side effects though!
