I've seen others post about grocery shopping before. I HATE IT. I always go over my budget. Every. Single. Time. If I say I'm just getting a few things, well that never ends up happening. I spend too much on groceries and then end up wasting food because it rots before cooking or because I'm picky about leftovers. I've tried shopping less often and more often. It seems like when I go more often my anxiety is less because I don't have to buy as much. But I really don't like going after work and that's my only other time to shop besides weekends. My husband helps unload/put away but will never come to the grocery store with me. Sometimes I feel upset when I see families there together and I'm always doing it alone. Sometimes I bring my toddler which is fun but it's hard if i am getting a lot. The unloading groceries and bringing them in the house is also one of the most awful parts. I know this probably sounds so silly but I get so angry when I grocery shop every week I don't even know what to do. Any suggestions?

Budgeting and groceries were difficult for me. I used to do them in the middle of the night so I wouldn't be so anxious. Budgeting was also a problem.

I am doing a lot better.

I make meal plans and absolutely stick to it. And I actually shop more often. I go every day or so. This way I avoid 'stocking up' only getting what I absolutely need. I only shop for fresh food - absolutely nothing that comes out of a box ready to make or a freezer. This too has cut back on wasteful spending. At the beginning of each month I make my budget and pay my bills. What I have left over I divide into jars for food, discresionary spending, etc. I then work out what I have to spend every other day. I take that with me - an no more. I have no credit card and leave my debit card at home.

Thanks for the tips!
