Mine are relatively new. Before the last 2 panic attacks in the last month, I haven't had any since 10 years ago! I can't breathe, I feel like someone is choking me and I start shaking. I also feel so dizzy that I feel like I'm going to faint. One of the panic attacks occurred in front of 45,000 people at a baseball game because I knew they are reading my mind and this gave me severe anxiety. There also was a lot of activity around me like seeing UFO's and aliens beaming down and seeing the crowd going crazy. The one today was pretty bad but I can't find a reason for it. I know panic attacks can happen for no reason. So, what are your panic attacks like and how do you deal with it?

in mine i usually feel faint, dizzy, weak, and nauseated, my heart beats REALLY fast, or at least it feels like it, im terrified of course, my mind is so whirling that it's like i dont have any thoughts. my only coherent thoughts tend to just be "im not going to throw up im not going to throw up im not going to throw up". i usually just have to wait it out. i absolutely need people i love around me, specifically my best friend.

I get light headed, heart beats really fast, feel faint, spacey and detached and is hard to breathe. Sometimes my hands will start shaking.

I try to distract myself and try to focus on something around me. Usually aromas of things I find pleasing helps....

I start breathing heavily and fast, my heart beats rapidly, my head swims, I have this tingling and hot sensation, I get a metallic taste in my mouth (I think this is adrenalin), I have this sensation that the world is about to end, and that everything's crashing in on me. If it peaks, I start screaming, begging for help.

i also feel a rushing sensation, my arms, hands and toes tense up very badly.. and since most of my panic attacks come whenim driving its not good.. cause sometimes my feet get so tensed up i can hardly press the petal and my hands tense up to where i cant hold on the sterring wheel well.... i feel like my choking,,,,, i start breathing deep sometimes it helps sometimes it dont...... ive gotten so bad where i thought i was gonna pass out...... one time( and this is the first time it ever happend at home) i was holding my sisters baby and i could feel a panic attakc coming on as i was holding him.. for what reason i have no clue..... i had to yell for my mom to come get him cause i knew id drop him if she didnt..... it was bad..... i get shaky not during an attack but after one.. it sucks.... ive gotten myself now to were i can stop them sometimes.... like if im havin one while driving if i bite my fingers or sometimes i have to call my mom and distracy myself.. some ppl say why dont u pull over but if i pull over it makes it worse.... somehow im am to focus enough to drive... yeah panic attacks suck......

When I get an attack, I feel like I'm having a "hot flash" so to speak...I guess you could call it flushing...it comes up from my feet to my head. I find my breathing gets labored (not hard to breath...just heavy) and my whole body tingles to the point of almost being painful. I become almost completely irrational unless I'm with my husband. He seems to be the only one who can calm me. Luckily I do not suffer that kind of an attack often, my smaller ones are more where I have to avoid being around people...and it feels like the walls are coming in around me.

I am lucky though as I don't suffer from them all too often. I try hard to remember that they don't last long...and I try to concentrate on something other than the feelings I'm having. Usually they disepate fairly quickly.

Hugsss

I feel like my throat closes up and it gets hard to breathe.

Almost immediately I begin crying almost uncontrollably, and I can't think anything but depressing thoughts. The only way to stop mine is to ride it out.

Instant sick to your stomach feeling. Terrified like someone is going to hurt you, get you, or your family--like a overwhelming sense of fear. Heart racing, Headaches and extreme nervousness. I also get that metal taste in my mouth. And usually it doesn't last more than 15 minutes at a time.

sweating all over, heart pounding, dry mouth, throat closing up, swallowing then gagging, hyperventilating, face goes numb, it's like all of my senses (smell, touch, sight, hearing, taste) are intensified to unbearable levels and my mind is racing and i just want to be out of my skin right then and there.

usually (like every single attack up until today usually)i know what triggers my attacks. like heavy traffic on the expressway, or having to spend any amount of time shopping beyond dashing in for a few things. however, today i had one hit me out of the blue for no apparent reason whatsoever, which has now got me just a little anxious. what - now i can't even avoid them because they're no longer situational? screwed. What are your panic attacks like?

Has anyone ever had a panic attack, especially alone, and runn out or run to a neighbor who didn't know you had mental problems or panic attacks, or someone you didn't know, to beg for help? I worry about doing that, especially since I scream and look like I've lost my mind or I'm being chased by someone with an axe or something.
