I am placing this here as I wonder if this is connected to anxiety by way of the medication I once took.
The last several days I have been woozy and dizzy. I've had a few embarassing ditzy moments and experienced something I can only describe as a detachment. It has been as though my head and body weren't connected. It is quite disconcerting. Under the direction of my psychiatrist I started weaning myself off of Citalopram. By last week I was at a 1/4 dose and this week off it entirely. While reducing the dosage I admit I experienced some negatvity and iritablity, but I certainly had nothing like what I have above described. Could this be the stoppage to the medication. Should I be scared of this? I usually see my psychiatrist every 6wks but he is out of the country until November. Should I be trying to find another pdoc immediately? |

Hello justafriend306: Well... the Skeezyks is certainly no expert on this sort of thing.
![]() It is also possible, I would guess, that this could be the result of anxiety... or perhaps a combination of the effects of coming off of the medication plus some built-up anxiety. What you describe sounds to me like the kind of thing one sometimes can experience during a panic attack. This is really just all speculation on my part though. The bottom line here is that getting in touch with another psychiatrist, or other mental health provider, is probably the best course of action, particularly if what you are experiencing continues. ![]() ![]() |

I think you might be right about the anxiety and even panic. I have had some stressful situations lately. I've had some anxiety about things being out of my control. Things should be back to normal by later this evening when I'm back to some routine. Thanks |
