I have anxiety with mild depression. I currently take 30mg cymbalta, clonazepan .5 twice a day and .25 mg of Lamotrigine 3 times a day. I am currently between jobs but when working I would come home exhausted and sleepy. It this my age or my meds...any thoughts?

Hi,

Problems with energy can be related to various factors that would include depression, but I also think it's possible that your medications might at least be contributing to the feelings of sleepiness and exhaustion that you've been experiencing. Clonzaepam has tranquilizing properties, and I think it's possible that your other medications might affect your energy in a negative way, even though some who take Cymbalta and lamotrigine report increases in energy levels in connection with taking the medications. One thing you might want to look at in trying to evaluate whether or not your medications might be contributing to the problems that you've been having with energy is the extent to which your energy level might have declined since you've been taking the medications. Talking to the professional who prescribed your medications to get his or her input and to discuss whether or not making any adjustments to your medication regimen also seems like it would be a good idea.

At any rate, I hope that you'll get some feedback here that you'll find to be helpful, and I wish you luck in trying to figure out whether or not your medications might be affecting your energy in a negative way.
Thanks for this!

I believe it might be the clonzaepam might be the culprit. I will talk with my doctor to see about lowering the dosage. I don't like feeling this sluggish...thanks

Google your meds with the terms 'side-effects, fatigue' and see what you find.

Clonazepam could be the problem.
