I want to find natural and alternative treatments for anxiety--and I have some--but I feel overwhelmed by all the different types and information. And the safety and effectiveness of each.

I'm hesitant when it comes to herbs, but part of me wants to try something with St. John's Wort and Passion Flower in it...but there are risks with those treatments. And exactly what dosages, especially if I'm using other herbals and naturals in addition?

Then there's the freakin' cost! I just saw one brand that contains these two herbs that costs about $30 a bottle, each which will last 15 days, and they tell you that you need three bottles...but I forget why.

I just feel overwhelmed, and it's making me anxious, which is what I'm trying to treat!!!!!!

I hate the SSRI and psych meds, but one thing about them is, they're easy to take. While you have to worry about side effects and physical risks, and you do have to make sure you don't combine them with certain other meds, in general, you just pop them and don't worry about them. With herbs and such, you have to make sure they won't conflict with other herbs, and the dosaging is less exact, plus some people have problems with them (although that can be said of pills, too).

The stress of finding a cure for my stress is killing me!!!

oooh i hear you there.
I actually cannot allow myself to research anxiety related stuff anymore because it almost always triggers a panic attack.

Could you maybe see your regular doc to find out if he knows anything about them?

I don't have a regular doc (I assume you mean a physician); I am looking to see a new doc. My last one sucked. I asked him about pain I've had in my shoulder (for about a year and a half now, but about four months then), and he had me push into his hand and rotate my arm and stuff, then declared, "It's not a torn rotator cuff, so there's nothing I can do for you." WTF??? He's telling me, the only shoulder pain treatment available is for torn rotator cuffs? And when I went in for what may be a bone spur in my foot, he only went by my description of symptoms, but never touched my foot or even had me take my shoe off!!!

Sorry...got into a rant there. But that's a good idea...talk to my next doctor about it.
