I was so looking forward to eating some good ***** food then my dad had to open his mouth about how I can't work. I got so angry I was shaking. He brought this all up in front of family. At that point I had lost my appetite and was picking at my food in anger. Then today I had a full on attack when I woke up. And I'm out of PRNsMy thanksgiving was horrid. Having panic attacks. Clearly my dad is a huge trigger for me. Ugh. Just had to vent. I hope everyone else had a good turkey day at least. I did enjoy leftovers today by MYSELF in my OWN house lol so at least I got that much.

I'm sorry you had such a bad day. Family sometimes has the worst judgement and timing for talking about stuff. My dad used to wait until we were all sitting around the table to bring up the most horrendous subjects. He ruined many a good meal. Sorry yours did too.

((((RxQueen))))),

I am sorry your father displayed behavior that triggered you and most likely he was consistently part of your challenge that can get pretty deep. The holidays and being around family can be very hard for just that reason, especially when a person is challenged.

I also ended up having a very challenging Thanksgiving despite my best efforts to try to have a nice day. It's unfortunate but people do have a tendency to develop unhealthy behavior patterns that can be hurtful to others and "yes" often that can be "family" members that simply don't learn how to keep their mouths shut or fail to respect another's space even when asked to do so.

I'm sorry that happened to you! The holidays bring a lot of stress to me as well! I usually try to focus on all of my favorite things as a means of escape. Like baking!
