Hi folks

I have been using another health forum for about 3 years now and although the people there were wonderful and supportive, the mods over there were absolute zealots. Almost everything was banned and sensored and even politely dissagreeing with someone, would often get you banned for up to a month. Common english words were sensored, your posts were timed and very often if you could'nt type fast enough, you lost everything and had to start all over again. You were not allowed to have a profile, link to anything, say anything "bad" about anyone in the medical proffession wether good or bad, true or false. You could not post your email address or chat and one a person even got banned just for responding to a post written by someone who had broken some trivial rule (like he liked chocolate cake and the other person liked vanilla cake so this was considered an "argument"). Lots of people were always complaining that they would have to re-open their account at least 9-10 times a year because they would suddenly find their account closed for no reason at all - only to find out later that they had been banned just for using the word "penis" in a purely medical context and had'nt realized that they had done anything wrong at all. I mean, seriously, I believe in "law and order" but these folks took it too unbelievable extremes and that's not even the half of it. I think these people got their kicks out of banning frightened people who were just looking for support and were perhaps even a bit sadistic. Anyway, this is my first new healthboard experience in ages and I am looking forward to making friends and telling my story but after all this, I'm starting to get tired and will probably just close for now and go to bed. I'll be back on again tommorow but I just wanted to open an account and say hi for now. Incidentally, I suffer from Panic Attacks, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Tourette's Syndrome, GERD, IBS, Sinusitis, Rhinitis, high BP and other things and take lots of diffeent meds like Xanax, Lorazapam, Atenolol, Prevacid, etc. Well, I'm off to bed. Nice meeting you people and I look forward to chatting later

Welcome panic man... this is a pretty safe place, but do have some guidelines just to keep us all congenial.<font color=purple>

There are some filters in place for certain words we sometimes feel like saying... but generally we tend to keep our own filters on, and realize that everyone here is here for a reason, and most all of us are adults (in one form or fashion lol)

Welcome Panic Man. The people here are very nice and supportive, and respect each other. I hope you will find this site a good place for you.

There are many people here who have both mental and physical 'problems'. In fact, I have some of the same things that you have: anxiety, GERD, and sinusitis. Last year I had an ulcer so I was on nexium, pantaloc, and motilium.

Look forward to hearing more about you.
