I've been feeling like I need to put up cameras all around my house and car to catch whoever will do something. I just feel like people are evil and I don't know what to do. It kills me. I do suffer from bi polar depression and mad social anxiety and I take meds for them. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hello sadanxiousguy98: Well... I can certainly relate to this. From my perspective, it's dangerous world out there. I pretty-much just keep to myself. I don't know if you watch the news on TV. But, if you do, that certainly doesn't help any. Of course, to some extent, this sort of fear tends to feed on itself. The more one isolates out of fear of the world, the more fearful the world comes to look. But then there's also that old saying: "Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you." So, from my perspective, it's a balancing act. Meditation can sometimes help with this sort of fear, as can getting plenty of exercise. And then, beyond that, I think it's mostly a matter of getting out there... working, socializing, perhaps doing some volunteer work to be of benefit to others, those sorts of things. I suspect you've heard all of this before. I don't know as there are any secret remedies you haven't heard of.

Anyway, I see this is your first post here on PC. So... welcome to PsychCentral… from the Skeezyks! I hope you find the time you spend here to be of benefit.

I can also relate. The thing that I've heard a few times and does help me, when I remember it, is that most people don't care about you at all. They rarely think about you. They're spending most of their lives thinking about themselves.

That might sound bad at first, but it has helped me realize that most people don't want to do me harm or be mean, because I'm just not that important to them. Hopefully, you understand what I'm trying to say. It is hard to hear at first.

I've been trying to eat better (and less) and get some exercise every day. Helps that I have pups to walk. That does help when I do it. Just need to get to the point where it's habit.

Take care sadanxiousguy98.
Thanks for this!

Thanks! This place seems amazing. I try to avoid the news because it just makes me more depressed. I want to try exercising more. But I'm not sure how to meditate. That might be an interesting new thing for me. Anyways, thanks for the welcome. So glad to be a part of this wonderful place (:
