Our minds are so interesting, aren't they! They see and feel compassion for others pain and suffering, which is commendable and a beautiful thing. But when it comes to our own pain, our mind tries everything to not feel it. It searches for distractions, goes in denial, runs for pills to numb it, and figure out so many other crafty ways to avoid having to feel anything slightly discomfortable that might resemble pain.
We cant feel compassion for something we don't see and feel, can we? Sure our minds are experts at feeling self pity, which is so destructive. Self compassion is " the best thing we can do for ourselves, NOW more than ever. There are wounds inside us that needs to be tended, but we cant tend to them if we pretend they don't exist. I'm not talking about the "victim stories our ego's keep playing over and over in our head. Coz thats what they are, just stories. Stories we tell ourselves are real yet we don't want to own up to the painful feelings (feelings which makes those stories real) associated with them. I dont think we can truly heal, ever, unless we start tending to the wounds inside us with tenderness, kindness and compassion. Maybe make time to grieve over all the hurt we've endured and remind our wounded souls that we are here, its not alone. #random thoughts |

"The myriad differences resolved by sitting, all doors opened.
"In this still place I follow my nature, be what it may. "From the one hundred flowers I wander freely, "The soaring cliff-- my hall of meditation "(With the moon emerged, my mind is motionless). "Sitting on this frosty seat, no further dream of fame. "The forest, the mountain follow their ancient ways, "And through the long spring day, not even the shadow of a bird."
