Funny as it may seem, corners really calm me in situations which cause me to feel "blaaarrggghh". I discovered this at the vocational training school during supper one day. There were four cafeterias, all of which would be filled to the brim with people and all the loud noises and movements that come with them. It was so unnerving and I, unfortunately, behaved rather rudely toward anyone attempting conversation. I wouldn't snap at them or insult them, but wouldn't be able to respond and I probably seemed as though I really disliked their company. Luckily, I eventually discovered sitting in the corner made me feel more comforted.
I've started utilizing this technique when grocery shopping as well, but only if absolutely necessary. My favorite corner happens to be beside a very tall freezer(from which customers buy bags of ice) set beside a wall which makes a very nice rumbling noise. I highly recommend this method of self-soothing, as it is the only thing that has ever worked for me.

Sitting in front of a fan or going outside especially if its cold
I think the cold/breeze just makes me more alert(have depersonalization issues so it brings me out of that) and refreshed feeling
