So, i'm terrified of electricity and always have been. . . It has gotten better over the years. I can plug stuff in without my heart jumping out of my chest now. haha. Majorly afraid of vacuums because they always shock me when I use them. It got worse when I was a teenager as I witnessed a guy get zapped from a trolly line and one of my dogs got electrocuted from a downed powerline. I avoid walking under telephone lines at all costs. Some things don't trigger it oddly enough like say computers! Maybe because it is safely contained in a box??? haha I don't know, Just wondered if anybody else had similar phobias. Also, weirdly I love thunderstorms . . . My dad's been struck by lightning twice! ! !

I haven't - but I lived two years with an aunt who had an extreme fear. It seemed though that her fear stemmed from having no understanding of it (ie, she used baby outlet covers because she was convinced the electricity would fall out). I ended up sitting her down and gave her a rudimentary course in electricity, in particular the path of current.
Would this be something that might help? |

haha maybe! Mines more it will come out of its own accord and zap me because people can conduct it! I had a poster of nikola tesla on my wall as a teenager with that crazy arcing above his head for a long time . . . kinda for inspiration that it wasn't gunna get me. lol

that was a 'tesla coil' for which there is no fear of.
You won't conduct electricity by walking near it. I still recommend that you do a quick bit of research on the subject. In particular, focus on "Electric Current". |
