Hello Glenbee52: Personally I don't know of any way to stop one's hands from trembling as a result of anxiety other than to put them in your pockets or perhaps hold onto something. I've had all sorts of problems with this sort of thing as well over the years. The real answer is to do something to try to resolve the anxiety that is causing your hands to shake. Perhaps if you continue to post, here on PC, members may have some suggestions as to how to address this. Sometimes just talking this sort of thing through (or writing about it) can be helpful.

I see this is your first post here on PC. So... to PsychCentral… from the Skeezyks! May the time you spend here be of benefit.

PsychCentral is a great place to get information as well as support for mental health issues. The more you post, & reply to other members’ posts, the more a part of the community you will become. Plus there are social groups you can join & chat rooms where you’ll be able to connect with other PC members in real time (once your first 5 posts have been reviewed & approved.) Lots of great stuff! So please keep posting!

Hi, Glenbee, and welcome to Psych Central! I'm not sure your hands can be settled down without meds once they decide to shake. I think the best thing to do is to try to calm down before the shaking begins. Deep breaths, positive thoughts....

Once after I gave a speech in a class, a classmate told me that I could have been measured on the Richter Scale!
Thanks for this!

I'm so sorry I have no answers. But wanted you to know you're not alone.
