I was diagnosed with anxiety disorder many years ago, but in the last year it has gotten much worse due to other disorders that I have (OCD and depression), and stress factors in life became ridiculously intense.
My symptoms have uprgraded to:
Average of 10 panic attacks daily, some severe.
Constant dizzyness, lightheaded feeling, like I have to stay in motion to counteract it.
Constant feeling of shakiness, weakness
Constant tension and tightness in the head, sharp throbbing headaches
Random periods of elevated heartbeat and sweating< then nausea.
Feeling drained, no energy all day every day.

My doc has recommended 1/2 mg of Benztropine in the morning, with 45 mg of Rimeron, followed by another 1/2 mg of Benztropine at bedtime. I start that tomorrow night. *Fingers crossed*
As far as anxiety goes, are these symptoms normal? Or should I be talking to my family doc?

From a quick glance, I think everything you mention there can be a sign of severe anxiety.

If you haven't had a physical in a while, you may want to get one just to make sure there are no medical reasons for any of the symptoms though.

Hope all goes well with the meds.

Agree with above. My symptoms have been that bad at times....sometimes the panic would last whole days/nights....(((((((hug))))))

At the time I was going to school, working, going to the gym daily, hiking with friends....some people thought I was rude/aloof, sometimes I couldn't answer questions or stay somewhere....this was before I took meds, I ran on autopilot for years. The med may help a lot. Don't be afraid if you need more but beware of the SSRIs ---harder to come off than the benzos really, even with titration.

I'm scheduled to have bloodwork done first thing Monday morning..as of now I'm just trying to hang in there and feel better. I'm supposed to go out to dinner tonight with friends but I'm already rethinking it. :/ I woke up today with anxiety through the roof. This sucks so bad!

Yes it does. Do go out to dinner, even if it is very hard to do.
Afterwards, you will feel better about yourself than if you avoid things.
(it is ok now and then to avoid but be careful....it can lead to isolation & make it even harder to re-engage)

Hi WoundedAngel,

Your symptoms sound like severe anxiety as another member mentioned. I can vouch for the benzotropine medications...they work great when you're at your worst. I hope you get some relief soon. Sometimes we need to find the right combination of medication in order to combat our symptoms.

I was using Lorazepam 0.5mg once daily for a while...about a year ago. Currently, I was given a different mediation.

They all sound anxiety related for sure. It's a tough road!
