You said in the other post that you accepted a new position. Are you more concerned that you're leaving something good behind? Or that you won't be able to handle the new responsibilities? Are you certain you don't want to go through with the new position?

New responsibilities do scare me also. Keep thinking of having to work with new people and the potential challenges.

Keep thinking why I even expressed interest in the new role. Why cannt I just leave well enough alone.

Are you having fear of a new beginning? Because i think it would be an expected behavior in this situation. Or do you have actual examples/reasons making you doubt your decision.

Do you feel like there is a high chance that you won't be able to handle or adjust to the new position, or is that more likely your anxiety talking? (I'm not trying to convince you of either decision, just curious.)

Fear of a new beginning. Afraid I'll hate it while I have a pretty good role now (however has become boring and unchallenging).

And how likely are they going to be upset if you reverse your decision? I know that's what you're dreading right now.

They know I am sleeping on it. YES. That is what I am dreading. The thought of what people are going to say about me. Laugh at me.

I have very low self esteem and confidence. Afraid that is what is coming out and now everyone will know my secret.

Oh, they're still considering you to be sleeping on it? They know you're still thinking it over somewhat?

Have they shown themselves to be mean and judgmental in the past? I don't think it's terribly uncommon for people to be extremely uncertain about taking new positions. They probably have seen it before. I know there are always the jerks, though.

That's understandable. I totally get catastrophizing, and having the worst case scenario seem like it is 100% going to happen. But I'm glad you recognize you're in your head right now!

Still, I get that frustration. The crying, and the sleepless nights worrying.

Do you think you'll be able to get some sleep, or are you likely up for the rest of the night/morning?
