so those that have read this forum know that i started an anxiety course to help with my agoraphobia

after the first session, however, I am debating if I should continue.

cons: I payed for 6 hour sessions, but the lady is only giving me 30 minit sessions, and gets really snappy when I tell her it's meant to be for an hour

I was promised some exposure, but was then told in my first session that their is no exposure at all, and for the first few weeks we're just going to work through some cds

the first session didn't really help me, and I came away with very little

thee pros are that I could really do with the anxiety coping methods, I payed a lot of money for it, I am doing this for myself (all my idea), and that the instructor has experience.

but, I don't know if I should continue the course.

part of me wants to just talk to her friday and say look, your ripping me off, I payed for this, this and this, and either you give it to me, or I get my money back

but then part of me thinks I should just go on with it.

what would you do?

I would continue the course but talk to the instructor about exposure therapy and getting your full hour session. Are you comfortable talking to her about this?

If the 2nd sesion isn't better, ask for a complete or partial refund (whichever you think appropriate). If she is not responsive, tell her you are going to report her to the entitiy that licenses her, take her to small claims court, etc--something that you think may get her attention.

yeah, I guess.

but would probably need some restraint on my arm so I don't end up slapping her

I sure hope the next one goes well and as it's supposed to.If not you really should speak up and demand what you paid for or for a refund.

I'm really sorry about this.It made me mad when I read your post. You're trying to help yourself and it sounds like someone's trying to screw you over.
