not sure where to post this. at night when i try to go to sleep it feels like i have bugs running up and down my legs under my skin. COuld this be caused by my anxiety of not wanting to sleep?

Sounds like Restless Leg Syndrome:

Could be a side effect of one or more of your meds? I'd talk to your regular doctor.

there is a name for it, but i can't remember what it is called...

people often get it when they withdraw from ice / crystal meth / methamphetamine...

but people get it aside from that as well.

um... this might sound silly, but i have something a little bit similar (perhaps) where i feel really really really really really itchy and i will scratch myself raw sometimes while i'm trying to get off to sleep. i'm sure it is partly psychosomatic (same with the bug thing).

what seems to help a little is moisturing. i get body butter from the body shop because it is a really intense moisturiser and my nightly ritual is to really rub it into my skin. seems to help. probably helps a little because the itching is partly due to dryness. could be worth a try for you...

It sounds like RLS to me too. My sister has that and has the same symptom.

Alexandra, are you sure its not an allergy? My husband had the itching while going to bed thing and it turned out he was allergic to the feather blanket. Now we have a fiber blanket and no more itching although the feathers were more comfortable for me. bugs under my skin ... weird

Could it be a side effect to a med you are on? I felt like my skin was crawling at night and talked to my psychiatrist and she told me it is a rare, but possible, side effect of geodone. She took me off of it and it went away!
