I was a huge huge huge caffeine drinker drinking lots of tea and soda and suddenly one day I couldn't drink it anymore. I thought it was so weird!! I started taking Paxil and took one little and I mean one sip of dr.pepper my heart felt weird but I thought that was weird I took my Paxil last night. Why would caffeine all of sudden give me anxiety Suddenly? I didn't start Paxil until last Wednesday and I started having caffeine sensitivity maybe a month ago.

One sip seems like such a small amount. That is weird.
If you stopped caffeine for a long period of time and then started back, you could feel the effects more strongly because your body is not used to it anymore. Also, I know certain medicines can intensify it and some over-the-counter drugs contain it such as headache, cold, and allergy medicines.

I have sensitivity to caffeine, but can drink a small amount. If I have too much, I get jittery and restless.

I was taking some mucinex so that may of increased my heart rate which is quite possible. I paxil mentions serotonin syndrome when you drink caffeine which is quite rare but if I drink a bottle of pop or have one cup of coffee will it hurt me? I'd ask my psychiatrist but knowing my psychiatrist I'd be shot down since my psychiatrist tells me sugar is bad which I guess I kinda agree on some levels.

The combination of mucinex and caffeine makes me jittery. If you get enough magnesium and potassium that can help if you are having heart palpitations.

I used to drink a lot of caffeine and it never bothered me until I switched to water for awhile. Once I went back to caffeine...major anxiety. I strictly limit caffeine now. I would just keep an eye on it and be cognizant of what causes what.
