Turns out I've been doing the STOP technique all by myself the entire time. It only works for a while though. (BTW, my goal is to forget about what I'm overthinking right now for a week, and when the thing that I'm nervous about finally comes, I wanna be all "Oh, that thing." in a flippant manner.)
