My biggest phobia happened tonight. I don’t know why, but my biggest phobia is pests - particularly ants. There were hundreds of ants crawling through a light switch by the door. I found myself curled up in a ball while my husband kept asking for ant killer spray. I don’t remember him asking or cleaning. I think I blacked out from panic. Eventually I took my panic medicine for emergency (which I rarely ever take - especially whenever needed most) and realized how panicked I really was. I don’t know why I fear pests so much but it dates back to early childhood. We live on the ground floor so we are bound to get them. I’m finally calm and will cuddle my puppy for the rest of the night.

Anyone else fear pests like this? Any tips, hugs, suppport?

that soundsn ice.

pick your puppy up and snuggle it tight!. I stroked a puppy today too, they make you feel so good, right?

what kind of dog is it

I am alergic to stings from bees and wasps (I have that shock thing, the name escapes me for now), so yes.. if something is in their I do start getting anxious- but more because it might be a bee/ wasp, not really because it's an ant or anything like that

actually not really sure how I'd be with ants... don't often see them
Thanks for this!

I'm in therapy for my phobias, maybe that could work for you?

Not sure what else can work. Sorry you had to experience this.

Have a fear of needles and bees. So much so that I went 5 years refusing to get any shots. A much needed dental appointment caused me to seek therapy. It helped some. Still have anxiety before shots but therapy made it to where I could tolerate them. One part of it was to focus my mind on something repetitive when getting a shot, like picturing myself walking down a long stairway. Try that when you see a pest and see if it helps.

Cochroaches. Paralyzing fear since I was a child. I understand.
