I am crying in my bed right now because i had another night of little sleep and I'm just getting so tired. I used to sleep so well and I just want that feeling of getting a solid 7 or 8 hours back.
It started last Friday when my fiance and I went out for some drinks and got back late. I woke up early the next morning and got 6 hours. No big deal at all, I've done thst many times before and felt fine.
However the following night my family came to stay and I was nervous about all the stuff we had planned for the next day and I only slept 3 hours. I felt so terrible that day, like I was going to faint or throw up all day long.
Sunday night came and I was exhausted but still only slept 6 hours again. Monday was no different. On Tuesday night I FINALLY slept 8 hours and felt amazing the next day, but Wednesday night was another 6. Last night I was expecting a great sleep since I have off of work today but it was fragmented and terrible. Not sure how much sleep I actually got but it was somewhere between 5-6 hours. My body feels like death and I dont know what to do.

I have lorazepam I take as needed and I've been taking it the past 3 nights (just .5 mg) to help and it does relax me. I'm super sensitive to meds and afraid of trying something else but got this natural sleep aid called Luna over the counter that im going to try tonight.

I just hate this so much

If I change my sleeping pattern just one night, it takes 7-10 days to get it back to a stable schedule. I take temazepam at bedtime, which is a benzo yet more sedating (usually) than lorazepam.

My sleep is all messed up this week, too.

I feel for you.

Sleep is so important for my stability. Sometimes when I don’t sleep well, I get into this spiral of anxiety about it continuing. The next night I go to bed Lay in bed awake and afraid that I won’t sleep well. It turns into a vicious circle. I’d say try that over counter med, and do whatever you need to do to get back into a healthy sleep pattern.

Thanks to both of you for your responses. I have a correction though: I have actually been taking lorazepam .5 for the past *6* nights, not three. Before this streak, I've only taken it on an as-needed basis probably 1-2 times a week at most. Do you think it would be a good idea to take .5 lorazepam tonight when I am first going to sleep, and then when I inevitably wake up in the night, take another .5 lorazepam to help me sleep through the remainder of the night? I just feel so tired and feel like this could possibly help "reset" my cycle but I don't want to become addicted to it.
