So its been a year or longer since I've been on here.In that time I've been in a great relationship with a man , my mentally and psychically abusive sister has moved out and I'm in the process of getting disability for my issues up on the advice of my therapist. Though everything is doing better at home my stress is high. I'm on guard thinking something horrible is going to happen. I could go on about my past trauma from family sickness , death abuse ect but I don't feel like typing that much. Anyway I'm still on guard , not sleeping or having nightmares . The added stress of waiting on the long process of disability is not helping either. Just needing some support. Thanks

You've been through a lot in the past and it not surprising you are on guard. I don't know why our brain uses worrying to try to protect us. I hope the stress eases up for you soon.
Thanks for this!
