I have a date with this gorgeous sweet girl tomorrow. I think i want to impress her, despite my common sense saying why do i have to impress her, why cant i just be myself? We've seen each other while she was a long term customer at my work. And being with her has been a blast. And we have built up this unrealistic expectation of this date already, like we ll dp this, we ll do that, and grandified the whole thing in our heads. And its giving me anxiety. Triggering me.

I think i should cancel. But then i think this is something i have to do. I have to get out and aspire normality. Do and be what other people are doing. I tell myself that i dont have to "win" her over and i can make this about earning a new friend. I have no idea what i should do.

Any advice?

It might be helpful to be up front with her about feeling anxious. You could say something like 'I am so excited about our date and a bit anxious, too". Just getting it out there helps me. Trying to hide it feels like pressure. I would appreciate the honesty if I were her. She might be feeling the same way.

I hope you give it a go :-)

Hi, thank you for replying. I found your advice very helpful. Although my date cancelled the last minute for whatever reason, i was still less anxious coz i knew that if i was going to do it, being honest and upfront about what i was feeling was the right way to go. Will keep this in mind for the next time i find myself on a date. Thank you again.

I'm so sorry your date was cancelled, sunnydispositions I hope you'll get another chance soon. I agree with Little Lulu. Her advice is very good. Just be honest with her and tell her how you feel and hopefully she'll understand. This is true for every other girl you may be dating in the future. Remember that we 're here for you. Feel free to PM me anytime. Let me know if I can do something to help you. Wish you good luck! Let us know how it goes. Sending many hugs to you
