Hey guys
I need advice please. I am not taking meds any more for my panic and ocd. I want to start my career in real estate. I am scared to take such a big step. I still stuggle every day to fight my demons. But, I want to regular life so much that I am willing to move ahead despite my fears. Should I do this? Meds don't seem to do much anyway. I hate my illness and I want to be the old me again. What do ya think? Ali

Ali,
Hi! First I want to tell you that I'm so glad you have such a strong determination to do what you want/need to do despite anxiety and ocd. Yes!! I think you should go ahead. I used to hate that saying "Feel the fear and do it anyway"... cause I wanted to do anything but feel the fear! Like anyone who suffers from this stuff. But, that is what makes you not be afraid of it anymore and gain more and more self confidence. I think its great that you are not on meds. One day I hope to be there too, right now i'm taking a mild mild antidepressant and it's working for me. I've gotten about 90% better.
And you may never be the "old you" again, You will probably be even better because even though we think we are somehow weak because of anxiety/ocd, we are truley strong! Just trust yourself and your ability, have lots of compassion for yourself, and go for it!-- Good luck-- Charla

I think charla hit it right on. Trust yourself and have lots of compassion for yourself too.

don't push it too hard, but don't stop pushing either.

Good luck to you.
