I'm not really sure how to start talking about this...I guess, I really dislike using cups. It's a weird thing to start on, but it will lead to a lot of other things. But, I really dislike cups that people have used or put their lips on, using a cup that I know others have used makes me feel sick. I also hate touching public things (Things out in the public), it makes me feel like I have an itch or a burn that I cant just rub off on my pants I have to wash my hands or I'll freak out. Would that be called Mysophobia?? but when I'm in my house I am completely fine, I won't shower for weeks because of depression and I won't feel the need or urge to clean myself because I feel disgusting or anything. Recently as well, I've been extremely unstable and frankly an emotional mess and I'm not sure how to fix that. Any small thing that someone says or I think about can set me off and cause a breakdown or crying episode, my thoughts on a daily basis have not been the best either.

I am unsure how to solve these problems though. If you could give me some advice on what I should do it would be much appreciated!!! Also, a bit of help on understanding what's happening with me would be very appreciated as well, thank you.

Hello imprisonedmind: I don't believe I can be of any help with this. But I noticed this is your first post here on PC. So... welcome to Psych Central.

We here on PC cannot offer mental health diagnoses. Plus I'm not a mental health professional. So anything I might suggest would be merely a guess. Some of what you wrote sounds like depression. Some of it sounds like OCD. But I really don't know. (Perhaps other PC members may have some thoughts they'll wish to share.) But really... the way to figure out what's going on is to seek the services of a mental health professional, either a psychologist, a mental health therapist, or a psychiatrist.

Here are links to 4 articles, from Psych Central's archives, on the subjects of anxiety disorders, depression, & OCD:

Anxiety Disorders: Symptoms, Types & Treatments | Psych Central

Depression: Symptoms, Types & Treatments | Psych Central

Living with Depression: A Guide for Coping with Depressive Feelings | Psych Central

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) | Psych Central

I hope you find PC to be of benefit.

I want to welcome and I stress on what Skeezyks says, we are not professionals and in these cases it’s better you check it up first with a psychiatrist or psychologist. Have you got any chance?
