I'm feeling a bit down because I may get anxious about three times a week since I had an anxiety attack a few weeks ago due to stress from class. I talked to my therapist last week and she says the anxiety I got was situational. My psychiatrist increased my dose to Effexor XR 150 mg from 75 mg a week and a half ago. I started taking Effexor since March because Prozac was not working and my psych says it may take 3 to 4 weeks to be fully active with the increase. Also, I cannot take Klonopin when getting anxious because she doesn't want me to take it and I have been prescribed Vistaril, but it doesn't work that much. I guess i'm supposed to wait a few weeks...

I think it's normal to get anxious around classes. Especially since all classes are online with COVID. Have you ever tried taking a warm bath, coloring in a coloring book (I'm a lot older than you are, and I have started using colored pencils with coloring books to help ease my anxiety attacks when I have them), hot tea, heating pad, listening to music, or watching tv, or going for a walk? Do you have any friends you can talk to?
Do you live at home, with roommates, or do you live alone? Sorry to hear that you are still suffering with anxiety despite being on medications too. |
