So I think I just figured this out. My anxiety bothers me when I am usually in an inactive state (trying to sleep, sitting on the couch) or calmly driving down the road. It seems that anxiety sort of makes its own form of faux adrenaline, vs the adrenaline I got running back to my house after the car ran out of gas at the end of the street today in the bitter cold!!

...Continuing my story, my anxiety gives me a false sense of threat when I seem to be at my safest moment. Earlier when I ran out of gas and had to run back down the street to my house I could have had a bad asthma attack due to the bitter cold; but my anxiety didn't cross my mind even once at that time.

When I have real adrenaline... my anxiety is at a low... but also when I am at rest... or when a "random" "worry" thought occurs to me... then the anxiety starts... and once it starts.. it just grows and grows...

I am a totally random person, and those random thoughts are always throwing me off!

I think the adrenaline is real in any case. It's the same hormone.

Yellow, this is why I keep myself so busy all the time. If I'm wrapped up in a flurry of activity I don't get a chance to "feel" and if I don't feel, I don't freak.

I am like Cyrano. I have to keep myself busy so I dont feel. I never can just sit and watch tv. At work I sit at my desk and I find myself moving my leg or playing with my hair....tapping...anything but sitting still. Very difficult to sit still in a movie theater too.

snowflake, I always cringe when anyone says they are like me. I always think, wow, poor bastard. real adrenaline and anxiety created adrenaline

Still, nice to know I have company.
