There are a lot of legal places online where you "send" your prescription, etc. and your meds come to you. My husband's company plan was that way, his meds came from Iowa every 4 months I think. I wouldn't order illegally though because you couldn't know what you you would get. My daughter-in-law did get an expensive US drug from Australia for 1/3rd the cost (illegal) but that was through someone who had done it/knew about it that they trusted.

I was going to say, I think I would be afraid to order some Xanax and have it be some deadly something or another instead. Kinda scary.

My pharmacy is mail-order. Unfortunately if I want the medication covered by my insurance I don't have much of a choice. I do have the option of going to a retail pharmacy if something unexpected comes up such as an antibiotic. But for meds I take all the time mail-order is the way to go.

Personally, I do not like it. If my insurance offered another option I would appreciate it. Too many problems seem to happen when I drop something in a mailbox and then wait a week or so to get a package with my meds. There is no human to human conversation thru the whole process.

I can view my prescription history, order refills, etc on their web site.

Turtle, same situation here. I have no choice but to get my meds mail order. It sucks.

If you are talking meds thru your insurance company thru the mail a lot of insurance companies do that now. If you are talking ordering from another country I would be worried. I don't know if their meds are set up the same as ours. Who knows what you might get.

Kind of a scary thought to me...

Yes, to clarify, I get my meds through my insurance company and they are sent via mail.

And it still sucks.

I don't order meds online.

I use the Rx programs offered by Walmart, Kmart, and several other pharmacies and a couple of grocery stores in my area.

Most have a list of Rx's that are only $4 for a month's supply and one grocery chain, Publix, offers free generic antibiotics.

I have insurance but such a high deductible it's worthless ($3000.00).

When my insurance changed to this high deducticle HSA plan, I went my doctors and asked them to switch me to Rx's I could get inexpensively; they knew what to do, pulled a list of the Walmart $4 Rx's right out when I asked.

Unfortunately one Rx is Creon 10, which I should be taking at every meal but is $201 a month ("Only $543.16 for a 90-day supply of you use the mail in!"). There is no way I can afford that and there is no generic or subtitute.

I recently saw a news program on TV where they talked about how easy it is to order meds online AND without a prescription (Xanax was the one they used as an example).

P.S. This election consider Health Care when voting.
