Who out there is scared of brain zaps? I know they are pretty much harmless, but when they happen they scare you really bad, convincing you that you could die from it. Even though a lot of people go through them, I can think clearly when I dont get them, but then when I experience one I think "oh no, im going to die", or something like that. I had a few brain zaps once and I went to the hospital thinking i had a brain annurysm. And they got me out of there within 30 mins of me checking in. I felt dumb and idiotic thats for sure!!

I had Brain Zaps when I was taken off Effexor without weening. They were irritating that's for sure. I had no idea what they were from, I thought that they were a side effect of the new meds.

Why are you still having them do you know?

I get them if I forget to take my Zoloft. They don't make me panic, they are just irritating as hell.

I saw a special on 20/20 on abc...it was about people taking

SSRI's anti-depressants. There was alot of people on there who

had these Brain zaps...they explained it as "little shocks or

twitches in their head. I don't know I never experienced them.

But i saw the special on TV...

Yeah, they don't hurt but they are jarring, like being stunned for a fraction of a second.
