Are you shy, anxious or frightened to post?

If you've posted on other forums, how would you compare them with PC, do you feel "safer" here?

I've posted on a couple of other forums occasionally (to grow, heal and learn, and look for a "balance" and a "reality check" and different insights including Constructive criticism if "needed" (etc) ) but always return to PC as my online "home".

I've posted on more than one forum where ..... the welcome was less kind or accepting and helpful than the great people of PC give everyone. (or everyone who is here to grow, learn, heal)

(On nore than one forum I will never go back)

I sometimes ( often ...... ) feel shy, anxious, frightened to post.

I do not care to be "studied", I dont know anyone who does. ......

We're all here to grow, heal and learn, lets be kind to each other. As the famous sheep says "everyone here matters".

((((fuzzybear)))))))) i feel the love... ......

i just cant elaborate hon, you've said it all... its the caring acceptance that distinguishes PC, that people are not only allowed, but encouraged to share their deepest innermost feelings and a safety net of caring others is waiting to recieve... in so many ways it makes me think of the lone person walking the highwire and the people of PC are the pillow that catches if they should fall... its the honest care and emotion of PC that helps me to feel comfortable enough to be myself and try with others to grow and learn even though i am afraid because it is all very unknown sometimes...... but the care is the way it all comes together... ......

Depends on what the topic is. Most of the time, no. Sometimes somebody will post something that will make me want to discuss something in PM, but that I wouldn't dream of sharing "out here."

I don't go to other mental health forums, but I do post regularly on one for one of my physical health issues. It's a fairly small group, and mostly women, since that's mostly who the disease strikes, so it's kind of nice that way.

I get scared to reply or post sometimes, I always think of how other people will react, if they will change their opinion of me, if I think I'm being a bother, etc. I don't use any other sites, but I feel safe on PC, I am just shy sometimes.

I've posted on a couple of MH support forums. Yahoo groups was for the birds. Never got your questions answered and the one I came here from died. LOL They had a religion forum but one thing I have to say for that one, it NEVER had nearly the problems that we had here! People were more respectful of other's beliefs and pretty much stayed in the threads that pertained to their beliefs.

I had my own support board for Grandparent's Rights and talk about NASTY!!! The militant parent's groups finally made me shut it down because I couldn't keep up with the deleting of the nasty posts.

This is by far the best place for support and friendship! ...... I wouldn't have stayed for almost four years!

Very truthful. It is so important for all of us to try and help each other out.

To me, it is like seeing someone with two broken legs trying to walk down the street and us, not helping, of course doesnt help the person out.

Same here. If we see someone hurting and don't help (of course we cant help everyone always), we are just letting someone hobble down the street when we want someone to help carry us sometimes as well.

It is indeed a good place to help "carry " each other, and I am happy about that.

Hi Fuzzybear,

((((Fuzzybear))))

I have a hard time posting here too. I think PC is a good place, compared to many places online. I think, in my particular case, it's not PC that's the problem but me having a hard time. But everyone is different.

Still, even in a good place, sometimes hard events occur. It can happen here, too, and we all have to work our way through them. But I think overall, this is a good and caring place, and a lot of very positive things happen here. There are quite a few caring folks here, and people wanting to work towards better health and wholeness, and also who wish to support one another in that process.

I send hugs and good wishes your way, fellow bear (((((Fuzzybear)))))

Hugs,
ErinBear

((((((((Fuzzy))))))))) It is people like you that make PC the wonderful place that it is! We may not always get the response we would like from everyone. But there is always someone that offers just what we are in need of.

You know when I was searching for a place to chat with others that could help me, and others that were dealing with anxiety like me, i could not find anything and stumbled upon PC. Ever since PC, I have not needed to find any other forum for help. I

I have a less hard time posting my own posts. When i want to respond i have a much harder time. I dont want to say the wrong thing and make them more upset. A lot of times i type out a response, study it and make changes over and over and then get frustrated and click the browser away lol.

I post on several forums and this place is by far the least nerve wracking. It seems like everyone is friendly. Plus i enjoy the fact that it has so many members. Sometimes i regret posting things and i check and recheck until it isnt on the first page anymore. The more members the more posting the quicker that goes ......

I get anxious and nervous to post on message boards too.

Some times I join sites and never post or I post once then get freaked out about being disliked then never post again.

I've joined many sites but do not usually stick to them.

Many people who read my posts might think I am not anxious at all since I write so much. I know it's one of my ways I cover up my shyness. Though on other message boards I read the topic and I know I have so much to write in reply to it but due to fear inside me I will not write anything or just write a sentence. O_o

I really like this message board though.

It's nice to be able to relate to someone. I used to think I was the only one that got like that about message boards.

I also get nervous when posting on message boards. I have social anxiety, and it definitely spills over into my internet wanderings.

I've been reading PC for a long time now, though, and I really like the community and the people here. I've posted a few times, but even just reading makes me feel better. I do wish it was easier for me to contribute, because I'd like to give back.
