Hello All,
I worry constantly about car accidents. I keep thinking someone in my family is going to be in one or that when my husband is driving us, we are going to be in one. (he is a really good driver.) I don't worry about it so much when I am driving...even though I am not the best driver.

Anway, I know its always a possibility for someone to get in a wreck, but how can I stop constantly thinking it?

I am currently taking Luvox for my ocd and risperdal for my anxiety.

Hey nervousnellie (LOVE the name),
Can relate to what you're saying. I'm a learner driver but I hate driving because I always think I'm going to swerve and hit someone, so I try to stay outta the drivers seat.
Changing your thinking...probably won't happen for AGES (sorry to crush the hope for an overnight cure and boy do I wish there was one) but it should happen if you stick with trying to overcome it. I don't know how much I could help but just to say that you aren't alone in thinking scary things. But life does go on.
Cheers

I used to have that same fear as you do with accidents. If someone was a bit late coming home anxiety would start. It happened to me at a young age as a kid. Whenever my parents were one minute late from getting home from supper i'd go into an instant panic attack and get hysterical thinking up the worse case scenerios. Now I get that with my current BF. If he is late or I can't get a hold of him on his cell phone I Start to get anxious wondering where he is, if something happened. But he is an excellent driver and the times that he should have gotten into an accident it didn't happen , he'd always managed to avoid it. So i think the chances are slim. So try to think postive, maybe bring this up to your T if you do have one and try to think postive, I know it's tough sometimes because I still struggle with that worry as well.

Have you ever been in an accident in the past? Or has someone else?
